Our Breeding Program
Litters are whelped in our home. They are kept close to the kitchen exposed to loud noises and grandchildren, and are well supervised by me. Our puppies are given early neurological stimulation, which gives them a superior advantage
At four weeks of age puppies are moved to a large exercise area with ramps, toys, and a sleeping area. They remain close to the kitchen and continue to be exposed to loud noises and children. This way as personalities and litter order develop I can observe each puppy's temperament. When puppies are weaned they are feed a high quality puppy food and plan yogurt.
At seven weeks of age, to assist us in evaluating the litter, a temperament test is performed. This helps us to give every effort to matching the puppies to the client's life style. We are home with our puppies and dogs 24/7
All of our breeding stock are screened for inheritable health problems. Certified clear of hip and elbow dysplasia through x-rays submitted to the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) for evaluation. Their eyes are examined annually by a board certified veterinary ophthalmologist (CERF). All Broadway Acre Labradors are sold with a AKC limited registration, ,health quarantee, vet exam, shots, wormed.
